Type of Network Explained । ANONYMOUS TIM3

COMPUTER NETWORK

A Computer Network is a group of two or more computers linked together so that communication between individual computers is made possible. Some of the common types of computer networks include. the physical connection between networked computing devices is established using either cable media or wireless media. the best-known computer network is the internet.

INTERNET

The Internet is the largest network that interconnects various LANs and WANs. It is a global system of various interconnected computer networks belonging to government or private organizations.

Types of Network :

Based on the size and the coverage area, networks are categorized into the following types:

ЁЯУМ Personal Area Networks (PAN)

ЁЯУМ Local Area Networks (LAN)

ЁЯУМ Wide Area Network (WAN)

ЁЯУМ Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)

A personal network

A personal network (PAN) is a computer network used for communication among computers and different information technological devices close to one person. is a small network established for communication between different devices, such as laptops, computers, mobile, and PDAs?

    Local Area Network

This is a type of computer network where interconnected computers are situated very close to each other say for example, inside the same building.

     Wide Area Network

This is a type of computer network where interconnected computers are separated by a large distance (a few km to few hundreds of km) and are connected using telephone lines or radio waves. it is relatively larger than LAN and extends across a city or metropolitan. it is created by connecting two or more LANs located at different locations in a city.

Metropolitan area network

MAN network covers a larger area by connecting LANs to a larger network of computers. In the Metropolitan area network, various local area networks are connected with each other through telephone lines. The size of a Metropolitan area network is larger than LANs and smaller than WANs (Wide Area Networks), a MAN (Metropolitan area network) covers the larger area of a city or town.

Classification of network architecture  :

        Client-server Architecture

On a network built using a client-server architecture. the devices communicate to other devices through a central computer referred to as a server. the server is a terminal with high processing power. which provides service for the other computers on the network.

        Peer-to-peer Architecture

On a network built using the peer-to-peer architecture. no specific distinction exists between a client and a server. any node can provide a service as well as send a request for a service from another network.

        Hybrid Architecture

A Hybrid Architecture in general is a composition of two different types of elements. Hybrid network architecture is created to get the benefits of both, the peer-to-peer and the client-server Architecture, in a network.

        Network Topology

The pattern of interconnections on nodes in a network is called the topology. this layout also determines the manner in which information is exchanged within the network.

The different types of network topologies that can be used to set up a network area

            ЁЯУМ Bus Topology
            ЁЯУМ Star Topology
            ЁЯУМ Ring Topology
            ЁЯУМ Mesh Topology
            ЁЯУМ Tree Topology
            ЁЯУМ Hybrid Topology
